“My patriotism is rooted in the fact that, were it not for the combination of U.S. power and generosity, my family’s story likely would have ended in tragedy.

It’s little wonder that some of the most faithful citizens in the United States were born outside its shores.”

Family, Service, and Soccer

Stephanie Murphy lives in Winter Park with her husband, two kids, and their dog, Navy. She’s a die-hard soccer fan and proud supporter of both Orlando City and Orlando Pride.

Stephanie was raised in a working-class immigrant family, where she learned early what it means to work hard, pursue opportunity, and give back. After becoming a U.S. citizen and putting herself through college, she built a career serving others—first at the Pentagon in national security, then in Congress representing Central Florida. She didn’t plan to run for office in 2016, but when the Pulse tragedy devastated her community, she stepped up and won, becoming the first Vietnamese-American woman to serve in Congress. And then Stephanie went to work where she was consistently ranked as one of the most effective and most bipartisan Members Congress.

Stephanie now leads the bipartisan Center Aisle Coalition, which she co-founded to promote pragmatic, commonsense leadership in a time of extreme partisanship. The coalition works to bridge divides in Washington by bringing together current and former policymakers, business leaders, and experts to promote bipartisan cooperation and pragmatic pro-growth policies that grow the middle class and keep our nation safe.
